What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Why CrossFit Murray?
We recognize that you have many choices for your workouts, but we provide you with four CrossFit Level 1 trainers, certifications in Olympic Lifting, and certifications in Movement and Mobility. We a local facility supporting local athletes with many class times to fit your busy schedule. But most of all, we have the experience to give you excellent programming and the knowledge to support your goals. We focus on proper form and teach you to work safely and effectively. We focus on growing QUALITY athletes, not having a large QUANTITY of athletes.

What is Crossfit 101 and why is it a month long?
Everyone that begins at CFM is required to go through our CrossFit101 program that lasts a full month. We do this because we want you to:

  • Have an opportunity to learn good, foundational movements with little to no weight and lots of attention from our certified CrossFit coaches.
  • Have correct technique before intensity to help prevent unnecessary injuries.
  • Have an experience that is fun and challenging but safe.
  • Have sufficient time to begin to develop the neurological patterns that facilitate many of our movements.
  • Have a chance to meet other new members to CFM.
At CFM we believe in quality over quantity. Yes, we could run everyone through a quickie-crash-course-in-CrossFit today, but we don't. We consider the quality of coaching and programming that we offer extremely high and we will not compromise that.

What level of fitness do I need to have to start CrossFit?
Any level! We will work with you to get you to where you want to be and can modify exercises if necessary.

I have had a previous injury. Can I still do CrossFit?
You certainly can but as with any health concern or when starting a new and intense exercise regimine, you should consult with your doctor first to make sure you are ready to go. Please disclose any and all injuries or surgeries you might have had that could impact your ability to exercise with us.

I have just relocated to Murray but have been doing CrossFit at previous gym. Do I still need to complete CrossFit 101?
Come by and see us and we'll be happy to discuss where you are at in your training. You certainly may not need to complete the 101 course.

What will happen every day?

When you come to a CrossFit Murray training session, you will become part of a team. We will warm-up together, then go through the movements of the day and WOD (Workout Of the Day) as a group. You will NOT be given a program and permitted to train on your own. You will NOT be allowed to do your own program. You will be trained under strict supervision following the prescribed program every day. This is for your own personal safety and it provides you with the most efficient avenue for daily improvement.

I have heard CrossFit is really hard. Is it any fun?
YES! You are not just joining a gym, but A FAMILY of athletes committed to elite fitness. We have social events and friendly sporting competitions. Have you ever heard someone say they were going to their gym on a Saturday night to hangout? Have you ever raced a friend with a parachute on your back? Have you ever don "Fight Gone Bad?" Have you ever met up with your gym buddies to go on a hike? Have you ever done a "Hero" workout with a friend? Well with CrossFit Murray you can!

I'm visiting family/friends in Murray but belong to a Crossfit gym at home. Can I come and complete a WOD at CrossFit  Murray?
Absolutely! We welcome our fellow athletes from anywhere in the world. Just contact us at least a week before you arrive and we can discuss what Box you have been working out of and what class times would be best for you to attend.
