Better than yesterday?

"Better than yesterday" is a great quote that we throw around in the fitness world. It reminds us not to compare ourselves to others, but to focus on just being a better us.

Sometimes though, I think we take that too literally. If we set a PR lift on Monday, we get really frustrated when things feel heavy on Tuesday. If we figure out Double Unders on Friday, we can't understand why they are gone on Saturday.

Be patient with yourself. Maybe you're not better than you were yesterday. Or even last week. But you're probably better than you were 3 months ago or a year ago. So yes, better than yesterday is catchy, but don't beat yourself up over it.
